Attack on America
"Evil," as President Bush said, is probably the best way to describe it. The Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and Pennsylvania hit by fuel-filled commercial airplanes, causing thousands of deaths in a matter of minutes.

The images of that plane smashing into WTC Tower#2, buildings crumbling, the Pentagon on fire, and the endless lines of people desperately waiting to fill out missing persons forms: it's enough to make the strongest of us weep bitterly. These are images that will forever be burned into our brain, to be remembered years to come.

But let us also remember the scenes of those firefighters standing on top of rubble, perched before buildings ready to crumble. When all other workers are evacuated, these brave souls fight on, not fearing for their lives, but desperate to find at least one more person.

Let us remember the scenes of Congress
singing "God Bless America" on the steps of the Capitol Building, endless
lines at the blood banks, children donating pennies, volunteers
coming from all over the country, hundreds or even thousands of miles away,
just to try and lend whatever aid they can.
An America filled with hope. A country uniting together.

This country has seen a tragedy that will be taught to our children and to their children as the beginning of the first war of the 21st Century. A war on terror! But let us not ruin it for our children. Please, don't let those history books be filled with images of America backlashing on its own citizens as we have in the past.

Remember, all of you, that this was done by a small group of radical terrorists. It is not a conspiracy by an entire ethnic population. So please, do not take your anger out on those you meet at school, at work, or on the streets.
Embrace them. They are Americans!
God
Bless America!
God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her,
Through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains, to the praries,
To the oceans, wide with hope,
God Bless America,
My home sweet home.
God Bless America,
My home sweet home.
